Day 1: Yogyakarta arrival – Batik Lesson
Arrive at New Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo. Your guide and driver will meet you upon arrival and transfer you to your selected hotel in Yogyakarta.
Lunch at leisure
Depart with your driver and guide to be introduced to one of Indonesia’s most famous crafts with a visit to a traditional batik factory. Not only will you learn about the ancient techniques and observe skilled craftsmen, but you will also have the chance to create your own batik. Start from scratch, making a design, applying wax and mixing your own dye. Your creation will be delivered to your hotel after drying.

Day 2: Yogyakarta City tour – Prambanan – Borobudur (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast we engage in exploring the many cultures of Yogyakarta.
Start with a visit to The Sultan’s Palace, also known as Kraton, is the central aspect of the Javanese cosmology being at the centre of the Mount Merapi and Parangtritis Beach lines. This building constructed between 1756 and 1790, is a fine example of traditional Javanese sultanate architecture. Remaining today as the residence of the Sultan, this living museum features a showcase of Javanese Culture and relics and depending on your day of visiting there will be a cultural performance ranging from Golek Menak Puppet‘s to classical Javanese Poetry performance known as Macapat.
Continue with a 30 minutes ride by becak (similar to a cyclo or trishaw) and explore the neighboring Kauman village built in the vicinity of the Kraton. This village is the central keepers of the Islamic religion as authorized by the Sultanate. The small gangs (laneways) of this village are so designed to ensure minimal disturbance of noise and traffic so as to not interrupt the Santri or Islamic students from their study. It was also said that by ensuring the laneways were only passable on foot – every man was equal.
End your Becak ride at the Taman Sari Water Palace This addition to the royal complex was built over 200 years ago by the first Sultan with bathing pools for his harem.
You will attend a short demonstration of Wayang Kulit, the famous Javanese leather puppet before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.
In the mid-afternoon, leave Yogyakarta for Prambanan: These huge ancient Hindu temples were built in the 9th century and the three main inner shrines are dedicated to the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. UNESCO named Prambanan a Heritage Site in 1991. Your guide will explain the history and symbolism of the temples as you walk around.

Day 3: Sunrise Borobudur – Yogyakarta – Bali – Ubud (Breakfast)
Wake up early this morning to reach Borobudur for the sunrise This is the most mystical time to see the temple- the sun rises over the structure in the tranquil morning air with very few other tourists at the temple. Before the crowds arrive, with your guide, explore this massive Buddhist Temple- the largest in the world- and discover the incredible history behind its construction. Comprised of thousands of volcanic and river stone blocks, the temple was assembled entirely by human labor and took more than 75 years to complete. These days, the UNESCO Heritage site is still visible in its full glory- with magnificent carvings and an unusual, yet surprisingly beautiful bulk structure.
Return to your hotel for breakfast, then check out and transfer to the Yogyakarta airport for your onward flight to Bali.

Day 4: Ubud Surrounding (B/L/-)

In the morning your guide and driver will pick you up from hotel then drive for Ubud surrounding. First visit to Tegalallang where we have views over arguably the most beautiful rice terraces in Bali. Continue to the nearby village of Tampaksiring village to explore Tirta Empul, a temple famous for its sacred spring water. All Balinese will bathe there at least once a year for a ritual cleaning in these holy waters dedicated to Vishnu. Midday, take a break for lunch at The Bridges Restaurant. Perched on a ridge above the Campuhan river, this restaurant combines breathtaking views of hills, rivers and its bridge.
Following lunch, continue to Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest; Make your way to Pura Dalem Agung where you will learn about the Hindu spiritual significance the temple. This temple is located at the highest point in the forest and is still used for ceremonies. Your guide will also explain the architectural details of the Holy Bathing Temple and the Cremation temple.
Finish today’s excursion with a walk in Ubud Market where local vendors come to buy and sell food as well as handicrafts and textiles.

Day 5: Ubud – Bali lakes & Hills – Tanjung Benoa (Breakfast, Lunch)

In the morning you’ll be driven through small villages and incredible landscapes, stopping for pictures and with your guide will explain the islands’ culture, flora and fauna. Our specially-designed routes are timed so you arrive at the major sights before the crowds get there and meet local people at markets and traditional village compounds.
First stop at the UNESCO Heritage listed, Taman Ayun temple. It was built in 1634 to serve as the Royal family temple of the Mengwi dynasty. The temple is a truly stunning piece of historic architecture, surrounded by a moat with multi–roofted meru shrines and intricately carved wooden gates.
After visiting Taman Ayun, continue through the beautiful countryside and little villages with an uphill drive to Bratan Lake. Located at 1200 meters above sea level, this volcanic lake is surrounded by spectacular views. Take a walk to the water to the famous Ulun Danu Temple which sits on a small island on the far shores of the lake.
Explore the colorful market of Candikuning. Afterwards we drive you through some of the most beautiful rice terraces in all of Bali around Jatiluwih area,
Enjoy lunch at local restaurant in Jatiluwih area
Following lunch departure for a light trekking in Jatiluwih rice terrace – Listed as UNESCO Heritage site, where our guide will explain the incredible irrigation systems that allow the people to harvest rice up to four times a year.
Finally you will visit Bali’s most famous sight, the sea temple of Tanah Lot. Located on a barren volcanic rock in the ocean, the temple is sometimes pounded by huge waves: a magical setting.

First visit to Uluwatu temple is one of Bali’s most impressive temples, Uluwatu Temple is majestically perched on the edge of a steep cliff. At sunset you’ll witness the dramatic kecak performance at the temple which is not accompanied by music but the steady chant of the male performers.
Drive to Jimbaran for a BBQ seafood dinner under the stars on one of Balis more expansive beaches. The seafood warung will serve you an enticing platter including prawns, grilled fish, squid, clam/shell, accompanied by rice, vegetable (Indonesian spinach), sambal (spicy Indonesian sauce).
Transfer back to your hotel.
