Mexico has a rich menu for its guests. There are spicy dishes and hot rhythms, palms and bougainvillea. Here you will find jungle and pacific coast, beautiful cathedrals, colorful crafts and Indians dancing in the squares while mariachi music with guitars, trumpets and fog sounds over the crowd. We experience fields of blue-green agave, volcanoes, deep valleys and waterfalls. There is exciting history and a little siesta between all the impressions.

Visit to the new Basílica, where there is the original image of the “Virgin of Mexico”. Architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez constructed the temple in 1976. The old Basílica can be admired from the great vestibule that dates from the 18th century. In that place, on December 12th, hundreds of thousands Mexicans get together in pilgrimage to worship the Virgin.

The visit will continue towards Teotihuacán (“Place of the Gods”), 53 kilometers far from the Federal District, approximately one-hour drive. Visit to the archaeological site where the Teotihuacán culture settled. Visit to the Temple of Quetzalcóatl, the Pyramid of the Sun, the temple of Quetzal-Papalotl, the temple of the Plumed Snails and the Pyramid of the Moon –from this spot the Road of Dead is seen in all its splendor–. Then we will go through Juárez Avenue; we will see “La Alameda” park and the Palace of the Fine Arts, building of the Italian architect Adamo Boari. Then through Madero Street we will arrive to the Zócalo to visit the National Palace –current seat of the government; its walls are covered by Diego Rivera frescos, one of the greatest modern Mexico’s painters–, the Cathedral –alive example of Colonial architecture–, and the Templo Mayor. Later we will continue towards Chapultepec park, passing through Las Lomas, one of Mexico City’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Return to the hotel.

Xochimilco was the place where the Toltecs took refuge during the fall of Tula. From ancestral times its inhabitants have dedicated themselves to agriculture.

It is a traditional place where many Mexicans spend their Sundays. Afterwards, we will visit the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the maximum house of studies of the country, that was constructed in the Fifties, but whose foundation goes back to the 16th century. Stroll through the campus where there are more than 80 buildings: the Rectory, the Library, the Olympic Stadium, among others.

The Villa of Coyoacán is located in the south part of the city. Enjoy a private tour where we will visit the “blue house,” as it is also known, where Frida Kahlo used to live. This extraordinary painter was born and raised here. Now it is a museum, where some of her artworks and personal belongings are displayed. The tour continues in Coyoacán’s main plaza—one of the first quarters built during Hernán Cortes’ government. Beautiful architecture can be seen in many colonial buildings and houses throughout this residential area. The Leon Trotsky Museum is located close to Frida Kahlo’s Museum.
