Day1 Beijing meet & great, drive to Gubeikou Great Wall, hike to Jinshanling Great Wall, Stay 2 nights in Gubei water town (Dinner)
Meet and greet at hotel, train station or airport in Beijing. Drive to Gubeikou. Our experienced Great Wall hiking guide will guide you hike around 15 km from Gubeikou to Jinshanling, approx 5 hours. Please do wear a pair of suitable hiking shoes. You may enjoy the sunset at the Great Wall.
The Gubeikou of the Great Wall is composed of two parts – Panlongshan Great Wall and Wohushan Great Wall, as Wohushan Great Wall is now still completely wild and unrestored, so usually the hiking route is also named for Panlongshan to Jinshanling Great Wall. Visitors will pass several watch towers and beacon towers, which only have foundation stones by weathering. After 2-2.5 hours hiking, visitors might have reached the forbidden section within the military zone, visitors need make a detour and go down to the deep valley and begin the second part much tougher and challenging in bushes or fields. The whole journey is about 15km, can be finished in 5 hours with medium pace.

Visit Gubei water town in the evening. Gubei Water Town surrounds the beautiful Mandarin Duck Lake Reservoir and leans against the Simatai Great Wall, the most dangerous and majestic section of the entire Great Wall. Regarded as ‘Wuzhen in Beijing’, Gubei Water Town boasts a combination of mountains, water and ancient villages. It is not a historical water town, it is a replica of Wuzhen Water Town in the Southern China, has developed into a large-scale sightseeing and holiday destination. Covering an area of 3.5 square miles (9 square kilometers), the holiday resort includes two scenic districts, the Gubei Water Town and the Simatai Great Wall.
Day2 Hike from Jinshanling to Simatai West Great Wall, drive to Beijing (Breakfast)
Hotel breakfast. Today you will hike around 10 km 4 hours from Jinshanling to Simatai West Great Wall.
Jinshanling Great Wall section is an ideal place for hiking enthusiasts to test themselves against its steep gradients and to enjoy the landscape. Jinshanling to west of Simatai section is about 10 km (3-4 hrs’ Hiking). Only partly restored, it’s less crowded, and provides a unique view of the Wall, watchtowers and magnificent scenery. The track is well formed and easy to follow but there are some places where you must walk on vertical steps, rugged terrain or through broken towers. Along the way you will pass through several famous towers: Black Tower, Lesser Jinshan Tower, Big Jinshan Tower.
Simatai Great Wall is 120 km northeast of Beijing. It stretches 5.4 km from Wangjinglou (Tower for Viewing the Capital) in the east and connects Jinshanling Great Wall in the west. Originally built in the North Qi Dynasty (550-577), it was reconstructed by General Qi Jiguang in the reign of Emperor Wanli from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It consists of 35 watch towers and still retains the original architecture feature of the Ming Dynasty. This section was restored again by Chinese government in 1987 and opened to the public in 1990. Simatai Great Wall was listed as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1987.

Hotel breakfast and check out. Hotel pick up, drive to Mutianyu Great Wall where the hiking tour begins.
Trek on Mutianyu Great Wall (6 KM 3 hours). Where you can walk along the wall, through the watch towers and enjoy superb views as it snakes across the hills and mountains. You can return by cable car, walk down or walk along the wall for about an hour to descend by chairlift. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather. Take slide down the Mutuanyu Great Wall.
