Day 1 Kathmandu arrival (no meals)

Kathmandu arrival, meet-welcome and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Dwarika’s Hotel, Kathmandu.

Day 2 Tour of Kathmandu, Swoyambhunath & Patan (Breakfast)

Morning, visit the old Kathmandu city with its stone-paved lanes and its colorful bazaars. Also visit the Temple of the Living Goddess – “Kumari” who is considered to be the incarnation of the “Virgin Goddess”. The temples, shrines and different sections of the palace are contributions of various dynasties over centuries and epitomize the religious and cultural life of the people. The old Durbar Square consists of the old Hanuman Dhoka palace, the Kal bhairav temple and innumerable temples of various architectural styles. All around the splendor of historical monuments is the hustle & bustle of the market place.

Drive further west of Kathmandu to Swoyambhunath. It is an old Buddhist stupa located at a top of a green hillock with the eyes of lord Buddha painted on its pinnacle overlooking the righteous behavior of the valley inhabitants. Swoyambhunath stupa is a site over 2500 years old marking the point where the legendary patriarch Manjushri discovered the lotus of the ancient valley lake. The whole is hung with multi-colored prayer flags whose every flutter releases holy prayers.

In the afternoon, visit Patan city also known as the “city of beauty”. Patan, the oldest city of the valley is the cradle of arts & architecture. It is well known for its intricately carved temples, narrow lanes & quaint shops. See the intricately stone-carved Krishna Mandir (temple), Patan Durbar Square & Hiranyavarna Mahavihar (golden temple). Patan is enclosed within 4 Buddhist stupas set on the four-corners of the outer boundaries.

Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara & Pokhara exploration (Breakfast)

Morning, drive along a scenic mountainous highway to picturesque Pokhara valley, famous for views of snow clad mountain peaks, lush green vegetation and its spring fed lakes. Upon arrival in Pokhara city, commence on a half day sightseeing tour of Pokhara city and its colorful bazaars. Visit includes Bindabasini temple, Davis fall and take a walk along the Phewa lakeside with its rows of restaurants, bars, bookshops and fruit stalls. After the visit you drive back to Begnas bazaar. Transfer to Begnas Lake Resort by boat and Check-in.

Day 4 Drive Pokhara – Dhulikhel (Breakfast, Dinner)

After breakfast, drive back the same highway to Kathmandu. Continue to Dhulikhel. Check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the place on your own.

Day 5 Tour of Dhulikhel & Panauti (Breakfast, Dinner)

Morning, see the magnificent mountains and the sun rising from your resort. Dhulikhel is well known for its sunrise views. After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Dhulikhel. Old temples and Newari style houses are the main attraction of Dhulikhel.

After the visit, walk through the paddy fields to Panauti village which is located at the confluences of the Punyamati & Roshi Khola rivers. Panauti was once an important staging post on the Tibet trade route with pre-Lichhavi origins. After the visit, drive back.

Day 7 Dhulikhel back to Kathmandu & Bhaktapur en route, Kathmandu departure (Breakfast)

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu and visiting Bhaktapur en route. Entering the Durbar Square (palace square) through the Royal Gate, the sparseness of the temples is immediately apparent, compared to the profusion in the durbar squares of Kathmandu and Patan. The main square contains temples and other architectural show pieces; the Lion Gate, the statue of Bhupatindra Malla, the Palace of 55 windows, the Bell of the barking dogs, the Batsala temple, the Nyatapola temple and the replica of Pashupatinath temple. After tour, transfer to International airport in time to board the outbound flight. (END)
