Hongyadong offers much in the way of natural eye candy. Next to the Yangtze River and the Jialing River, it offers spectacular views of both water and city. Perched on a hill overlooking the Jialing River in the west of the city, Ciqikou Ancient Town (Porcelain Village) dates back to the late Ming Dynasty. People always said “One flagstone road, and one thousand years’ Ciqikou”. This is never truer than when you visit Ciqikou Town where you will find the local residents dedicated to their traditional way of life, unaffected by modern influences to be found in the larger towns and cities. Ciqikou is now a part of the city of Chongqing, but it was once was a prominent independent market and trade town.

13:00 General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum
The museum is the former residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell, who was chief commander of US forces in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II. Inside the museum, there are more than 200 valuable historical photos showing four themes of General Joseph W. Stilwell and China, the China-Burma-India War, the Flying Tigers, and Forever-lasting Friendship.

15:30 Huguang Guild Hall
This grand building complex was first built in 1759 during the Qing Dynasty. The complex covers around 8500 km2 and contains a variety of halls, towers and a temple. The Yuwang Temple In the complex was the place to pray for a good harvest, dating back 300 years, people gathered at the temple to make sacrifices to Yuwang, a local god, for fortune, happiness and good harvest.

16:00 Hongyadong
The scenic spots of Hongyadong are beautiful and stunning. Hongyadong is built on mountains and along the river, These houses are based on the Stilted House style, which is the traditional architectural feature of Bayu.

Day 3 Dazu Grottoes excursion – Full day (Breakfast/lunch)

Description: This full day excursion to Dazu Grottoes will let you discover a beautiful Chinese and Historic legacy. The Dazu Rock Carvings in Dazu County are by far one of the most historical, cultural, and popular tourist destinations in China.

Private transfer to Dazu County (about 2.5 hours),visiting Fozu (Buddha) Temple (about 40 min.). This temple, built in 855 during Tang Dynasty, was located at Baoding Town of Dazu County.There was a famous accomplished monk named Zhao Zhifeng doing practice in Fozu Temple. Because of his devotion and charitable and pious deeds, he was appraised as the bishop of Mi Sect of Buddhism.

13:00 Baoding Mountain Carving of Dazu
Visit Baoding Mountain Carving of Dazu, one of the World Cultural Relics (about 1.5-2 hours). It was built during Southern Song Dynasty. Buddhist sculptures and statues are carved on the face of cliff which is 500 meters long. The most famous ones are Six Transmigrations, Guang Da Bao Lou Ge (Vast Treasure Tower), The Statues of Two Sages of Huayan and Thousand-hand Goddess Guanyin. It is an art treasure which combines Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism.
