Day 1    Shanghai arrival, 3 nights (no meal)

Shanghai arrival, meet your guide at PVG international airport and transfer to hotel, check in.
Shanghai is a modern and fast paced city, rich in history and culture and with a wealth of areas and sites just waiting to be explored. One of the nicest aspects of Shanghai is that the crowds here are much more manageable than in a city like Beijing. This is largely because there are no great ancient sites which people flock to. Rather, this is a city to be walked, wandered, explored and discovered in your own time and, in your own style. Discover ‘Asia’s New York’, the massive city with captivating views of skyscrapers and stunning architecture. Get to eat cuisines from all of China’s provinces or try to some local sweeter dishes. Always a good experience, with new adventures around every street corner.

Day 2    Shanghai city tour (Breakfast/Lunch)

Hotel breakfast. Hotel pick up, you will start your city excursion. The first stop is the Bund by walk. enjoying the colonial walking along the Huangpu River. This park-like promenade, stretching along the Huangpu River between the narrow Wusong River and Old Town, was the former Wall Street of the foreign powers. Today the area bristles with activity and excitement virtually any time of the day or night. Crowds gather every morning to perform the slow, graceful exercises known as taichi.
Yuyuan Garden. Yuyuan Garden is a famous classical garden located in Anren Jie, Shanghai. The garden was finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan. Yu in Chinese means pleasing and satisfying, and this garden was specially built for Pan’s parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age.
Chenghuangmiao – Town God’s Temple, it is the oldest city area in Shanghai, the style and features of the ancient Chinese towns and streets still kept here. Shanghai Laojie is an ideal place to discover what Shanghai was like in the old days. The eastern section retains characteristics of residences. The western section is filled with Ming and Qing style architecture.
In the afternoon, you will go to Formal French Concession Xintiandi. Xintiandi is composed of an area of restored traditional Shikumen houses on narrow alleys, some adjoining houses which now serve as book stores, cafes and restaurants, and shopping malls. Most of the cafes and restaurants feature both indoor and outdoor seatings. Xintiandi means “New Heaven and Earth”, and is considered one of the first lifestyle centers in China.
You will visit WFC – Shanghai World Financial Center. With 101 floors above ground level and soaring to a height of 492m, WFC embodies Mori Building’s original “Vertical Garden City” concept and incorporates the company’s vast know-how and experience, offering office space with cutting-edge specifications and all the functions expected of a world-class international financial center.

Day 3    Suzhou “Venice of the Orient” (Breakfast/Lunch)

Hotel breakfast. Transfer to Suzhou 1.5 hours, you will go to Boat ride on the Grand Canal. Grand Canal: ranks alongside the Great Wall of China as one of the country’s greatest engineering achievements. It is the longest man-made waterway in the world.Cruising along the canal, visitors can see the life of the local people as it has been for centuries.
Then you will visit Tiger Hill. It is said that there was a white tiger coming to the hill to guard it following the burial of King Helü, hence the name of Tiger Hill. One thousand years ago, Su Dongpo, the famous litterateur in the Song Dynasty, said that it is a great pity for one if he comes to Suzhou without visiting Tiger Hill. The hill was crowned as the No. 1 Scenic Spot in Suzhou for its beautiful scenery and long history.
Afternoon you will visit Humble of Administrator’s Garden. The Humble Administrator’s Garden, built 1509 during the Ming Dynasty, is located in the No.178 Northeast Street of Suzhou City. It is the largest and most renowned classical landscape garden in Suzhou, covering an area of 78 Mu. As one of four most famous gardens in china, it is a 5A tourist spot and listed in the Key National Historical Conservation Units and valuably cultural relics in the world.
And then you will go to Pingjiang Lu. A quiet, canal-lined street not far from the heart of the Old Town, Pingjiang Lu is another great alley to wander down.You can feel the history when you hit the road, with old history building at the two sides. After tour, transfer back to Shanghai.

Day 4     Fly to Xian, Terra-cotta Warriors excursion, 1 night (Breakfast/Lunch)

Hotel breakfast and check out. Transfer to airport and take flight to Xian CA1216 dep 08:25 arr 11:15 or similar. Meet on arrival at Xian airport.
Xi’an is located in central-northwest China, records the great changes of the country just like a living history book. Called Chang’an (meaning the eternal city) in ancient times, it is one of the birthplaces of the ancient Chinese civilization in the Yellow River Basin area. As the eastern terminal of the Silk Road and the site of the famous Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty, the city has won a reputation all over the world. More than 3,000 years of history including over 1,100 years as the capital city of ancient dynasties, have endowed the city with an amazing historical heritage.
Today’s highlight is to visit the Terra-cotta Warriors’ Museum. The high point of a trip to Xian comes when you stand at the edge of Emperor Qin Shihuang’s vast funeral and gaze at the life like faces of his terra-cotta army. And you will visit the Big Goose Pagoda as the symbol of the old-line Xian. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. After visit, transfer to hotel, check in.

Day 5    Xian city tour, high speed train to Beijing (in first class) 2 nights (Breakfast/Lunch)

Hotel breakfast and check out. Morning visit Ancient City Wall, it is the most intact ancient Chinese wall in existence. City Wall encircles and protects the ancient part of Xian City. Xian was the capital of thirteen different Chinese dynasties, so the need for a defensive structure such as the city wall was imperative. The current six hundred year old City Wall is the most integrated ancient City Wall in China. Then you will visit the Great Mosque and its bazaar. The mosque was built in a Chinese architectural style with most of the grounds taken up by gardens still an active place of worship, the mosque holds several prayer services each day. The bazaar at the entrance of Mosque is quite interesting for the visitors. After lunch transfer to Xian railway station, take fast train to Beijing G88 dep 13:30 arr 17:55 or similar with first class ticket. CRH China Railway High-speed Taking one of China’s high-speed passenger trains is probably one of the most convenient ways to travel the country. As China is building a high-speed rail network comparable to the French TGV and the Japanese Shinkansen “bullet trains,” trips through the country have become easy and comfortable. Nearly every important and interesting place within in China can now be reached by high-speed train. The trains are comfortable, very modern and can be compared to airplanes when it comes to seating and smoking restrictions.

Meet on arrival Beijing railway station and transfer to hotel, check in.

Beijing is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. It has been the heart of China’s history for centuries, and there is scarcely a major building of any age in Beijing that does not have at least some national historical significance. The city is renowned for its opulent palaces, temples, and huge stone walls. Its art treasures and universities have long made it a centre of culture and art in China.

Day 6    Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall excursion (Breakfast/Lunch)

Hotel breakfast. Today you will visit the Summer Palace. Despite its name, the Summer Palace is not a palace in the sense of the Forbidden City but an imperial park criss-crossed by pathways and nestled against lovely Kunming Lake. The Qing court spent much of the year here in the empire’s final decades.
Then you will go to the Mutianyu Great Wall winds 1.4 miles through lofty mountains and high ridges, many sections of which are made of granite. The unique structure makes the wall almost indestructible. It measures 23 to 26 feet high and four to five yards wide. Both of the wall’s inner and outer sides have parapets to defend against enemies coming from the two sides. Some parapets are saw- tooth shaped instead of the regular rectangular form. Below the parapets, there are square embrasures the top of which are designed in an arc structure, different from the traditional round embrasures. (cable car and Slide included)

Day 7    Beijing Historic tour, fly out in the late afternoon (Breakfast/Lunch)

Hotel breakfast and check out. In the morning, you will visit the Temple of Heaven. Early in the morning you can see Tai Chi exercising. The Temple of Heaven is situated in south eastern urban Beijing. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest.
Then you will go to visit the Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is located at the center of Beijing City where you can see Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People’s Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and see the national flag raising ceremony. It is the world’s largest city square. And then you will visit the Forbidden City. The place was originally established by Emperor Yongle between 1406 and 1420. The palace is so large that a full-time restoration squad is continuously repainting and repairing. 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled from the Forbidden City. After tour, transfer to airport and fly out in the late afternoon (END)
