Day 2 Hanoi City tour (Breakfast)

Here we will spend a day exploring enchanting Hanoi. We start with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, then the impressive, but simple house on stilts that was Ho’s former residence, and the One Pillar Pagoda, before taking a walk in the ancient Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university established during the construction of the capital in 1070. Then continue to Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda at West Lake (One of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam)

In the afternoon, we visit the Ethnological Museum, the most interesting museum in Hanoi. Then we take a walking tour viewing the charming French colonial architecture of the bustling Old Quarter and the streets which are named after the guilds that used to represent such as Hang Bac (Silver Street), Hang Gai (Silk Street). You would have time at Café Giang for some bitter sweet coffee, enjoying the local life at the oldest home-made coffee brand in Hanoi.

Evening is the time of water puppet show, a unique art form of Vietnamese, at Thang Long Water Puppet Troupe, and you will also experience more about a specific culture in South-East Asia coming from agriculture of wet rice during the performance. Drive back to the hotel.

Day 3 Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)

This morning, we depart for Ha Long Bay. Passing through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta, we enjoy the lush scenery and photo opportunities. Arriving at Ha Long Pier to board a traditional, but luxurious, wooden junk and cruise through the spectacular islands rising from the tranquil emerald sea. Enjoy sumptuous on-board seafood and explore Cua Van, one of the most beautiful floating villages in the world. Kayak in Cua Van Village. Witness a splendid sunset. Dinner and overnight on your boat.

Cua Van Fisherman Village, situated in a calm bay ringed by mountains some 20 km for Halong City, is a tranquil retreat for those seeking an authentic experience of the local lifestyle. As the largest floating village in the area, Cua Van has a population of over 700 people living in its network of floating houses. The village has been recognized as one of the most beautiful floating villages in the world.

HALONG BAY is nearly a hidden bay with thousands of limestone islands densely rising from the blue jade water in a sea area of over 1500 square kilometres. Its 1969 green islands enfeeble the strong winds blowing from the ocean to leave the transparent water of the bay often calm in cool and healthy air. From time to time, sailing Junk appearing and disappearing between the islands make the poetic sight more colourful like sparkling pearls or coral reefs found out in the bay. The beauty of the bay is not monotone, at different positions of viewing, it will astonish viewers with quite different fascinations. In the caves and grottoes of stone islands, visitors will discover and admire how many impressive stalactites and stalagmites.


  • This itinerary can be changed depending on the company of the cruise, the sea conditions and the decisione of the Ha Long Bay Port Authority.
  • Overnight on Cruise. If Ha Long Bay is affected by a typhoon or there is an alarm for that danger, the port authorities can decide to reduce the route or even prohibit the departure of the ships. If due to the weather conditions, it is not possible, you will stay in a hotel in Ha Long City.

Day 4 Ha Long Bay – Hanoi, Sofitel Metropole for 1 night (Breakfast + Brunch)

Waking up early in the calming sounds of waves crashing the nearby islands, you can enjoy a morning coffee and watch the sun rise on the top deck, or you may join Tai Chi Class if you wish to. You will continue sailing around the magnificent bay. Sitting on the upper deck and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay. The brunch would be served while the junk starts cruising back. Visit the primitive Tien Ong Cave. Your cruise will end before noon (around 10:30 pm) and your driver will be waiting and ready to take you to the hotel in Hanoi. Stay in Hanoi Sofitel Metropole for 1 night.

Day 5 Hanoi Departure, fly back to Shanghai (Breakfast)
