Executive Summary

We would like to repeat the success of the 2016 Shanghai Chinese Music Tour of Denmark, therefore CB Event & Just B Creative is organizing the 2019 tour of Denmark. The musical tour will take place in the fall, and tour around Denmark at various venues.
Our foremost wish is to bring the Danish youth closer to the rich Chinese culture and spark an interest for China in the young individuals. Secondly, we wish to bring Danish & Chinese companies closer culturally, for an improved future of international business between the two nations, through a shared concert and reception meant for connecting and networking in and beyond the borders. Key business and political figures in Denmark-China trade & business will be attending.

There will be extensive coverage of the whole tour by especially one journalist from Shanghai that will follow the musicians throughout the entire tour and write reports.

The musical tour is meant as an opportunity for people to get an insight into the rich and refined Chinese culture, and to develop the relationship between Denmark and China through a musical adventure.

But to be able to make this tour a reality and a larger success, we need your support.

Short Introduction of the 2016 Denmark Tour
The Chinese entourage consisted of 20 musicians, 5 officials and 1 journalist from Shanghai. The orchestra toured to 6 cities in Denmark: Aalborg, Aarhus, Herning, Sønderborg, Odense and Copenhagen, all together 13 concerts and music activities. They played classical traditional Chinese music for a broad audience of children, young people and adults. The concert was a beautiful introduction of the musical traditions in China, presenting the different instruments both in solos and ensemble. All concerts ended with 2 Danish classical pieces by Carl Nielsen performed by the Chinese orchestra. The 2 Danish pieces are 2 folk songs that all Danes learn from a very young age, and in some concerts audiences sang along. The tour ended in Copenhagen with a concert attended by the Chinese Ambassador, culture attaché in Denmark, the former Danish former Foreign Minister and Culture Minister, member of Copenhagen City Council and more than 400 mainly Chinese people working & living in Copenhagen.
*The media coverage in Denmark and China in 2016 can be sent upon request.

Plan of the 2019 Denmark Tour
The Chinese entourage will consist of 20-22 musicians, 1 conductor, 4-5 officials and 1 journalist from Shanghai. The ensemble is called Shanghai SMG Chinese Music Orchestra, and is a state-owned ensemble under the SMG Performing Arts Group, a performing magnate in China today. The orchestra invites renowned conductor Wang Yongji to conduct the orchestra. Wang Yongji acted as the permanent and principal conductor of the Shanghai Film Orchestra and has furthermore taught at Yale University and has conducted the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Chinese Orchestra.

We will tour around Danish schools and culture centers in cities like Viborg, Horsens, Esbjerg and Vejle. We will end the tour in Copenhagen with a concert and a reception, similar to the one in 2016. Invitations will be given to the Chinese Ambassador, other important Danish politicians and VIPs.
In 2019 we would like to include 2 new Danish classical melodies to be performed by the Chinese orchestra. This time we would like it to be one of the oldest known Danish tunes down written ‘Drømte mig en drøm i nat’ (I dreamt a dream last night) from year ca. 1300.
The other Danish melody will be one of the most beautiful songs ‘Midsummervisen’ (Midsummer Song) written by Holger Drachman and P.E. Lange-Müller in 1885, which is a song celebrating Denmark. We will also invite Danish musicians to play with the orchestra in Copenhagen.
Lastly, we will be considering extending the tour to a single extra concert in Oslo, Norway.

Please feel free to contact us for any possible cooperation.
