Itinerary:
Day 01 Chengdu-Juzhaigou/Songpan 2 N
Fly to Jiuzhaigou (Jiuhuang airport, Songpan County, Sichuan) via Chengdu. Upon arrival, meet the local guide and drive to Jiuzhaigou Valley. The duration is about 1.5 hours (approx. 2 hours) and the visit will last 3-4 hours. The park is open until 7 pm. Today, you will visit one of the valleys. Overnight in Jiuzhaigou
Day 02 Jiuzhaigou
Jiuzhaigou (Nine-villages Valley), situated in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, is listed as a World Natrual Heritage and reputed as a “fairyland” with its fantastic natural view. As the water, the “soul of Jiuzhaigou”, is purely and crystal-like clear and rich in colors, there goes the saying that no water is worth your attention after your visit to Jiuzhaigou. The water, the reflection on the bank, the stone mill, the Tibetan villages, the Buddhist streamers and the songs and dances of the Tibetan and Qiang people constitute the unique tourist culture of Jiuzhaigou. 114 green lakes, 47 springs, 17 over flying waterfall groups, 11 sections of turbulent streams, 5 Karst shoals, vast primitive forest and three Tibetan villages are distributed among the three valleys. Day 03 Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong/Songpan 1N
Hotel check out and drive to Huanglong in the morning, the duration is approx. 3.5 hours. Huanglong (Yellow Dragon), as a national park in China, Huanglong has won the praise as “heaven on earth” or “wonderland” and is marked by its low-temperature and highly calcified Karst landform, which forms numerous valuable colored ponds. Besides, marvelous water forms, natural scenery composed of magnificent valleys, colorful pools, grasslands and wild animals all make Huanglong more fascinating. Drive to Songpan, an ancient city of over 600 years of history resided by minorities of Tibetans and Hui people, and overnight in Songpan
Day 04 Songpan-Monigou-Erdaohai 1N
Early in the morning ride horse and trek (about 4-7hours depending on riding or trekking; on the way there are some small Tibetan villages) to the campsite located in the Monigou Scenic Spot. Covering an area of 160 km2, with a lowest elevation of 2,800m, and highest 4,070m, its annual average temperature is 70C. Mounigou comprises two parts: Zhaga Waterfall and Erdaohai Lake （for this trekking only Erdaohai Lake possible）. Here are marvelous natural beauties including waterfalls, colored ponds, grassland, lakes, fountains, stalactite grottos, and stone forests. It combines the beauties of both Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, but even prettier, for visits at all seasons. Reach Erdaohai at about 12:00 and visit the Erdaohai Scenic Spot by walking along the wood lane (about 2-3 hours). Overnight in Tent (pls prepare your own sleeping bag if possible) outside the Spot…
Day 05 Erdaohai-Zhongzhai-Chengdu 1N
In the morning ride horse for about two hours to Zhongzhai and meet the driver, who transfer back to Songpan. After lunch, transfer to airport and fly back to Chengdu. If time allows, visit Dujiangyan Irrigation System (depending on time), which was built around 250 BC by Libin, a governor of Shu Prefecture in Qin State. The great project still works well today after more than two thousand year’s function, which not only puts an end of the water disaster to the local people but also makes Chengdu Plain “the land of abundance”. Day 06 Chengdu-departure
Highly recommend tour: Panda breeding institution. The institution covers an area of 600 acres. The environment here is exquisitely designed; the air is refreshing with the bamboo growing luxuriantly and flocks of wild birds flying around. There are 39 giant pandas and tens of specious animals such as red pandas and black-necked cranes. The Giant Panda Museum, Butterfly Exhibit Hall and Vertebrae Animal Exhibit are located in the Base. It was awarded "Global 500" twice by the U N in the year of 1989 and 1994. If time allows, have a short walk in Chengdu city-the capital of Heavenly Kingdom, enjoy the great tea time.
