Water town exploration

Destinations: Shanghai-Wuzhen-Xitang

Located about 120km south-west of Shanghai the water towns Wuzhen and Xitang are a peaceful destination to escape the bustling city. Ancient bridges, stone pathways and beautiful wood carvings characterise the towns. With its many canals and bridges Wuzhen is often referred to as the Venice of the East and can easily be explored by boat. Visit the former residence of the famous writer Mao Dun and enjoy a cup of tea in the Fanglu Pavilion. On your way back to Shanghai you will visit Xitang. Walk across the small streets and bridges and enjoy the peaceful Temple of the seven Masters.
