    Snow Sculpture on the Sun Island
    Harbin International Snow Sculpture Art Expo is held on Sun Island every winter. The snow art exhibited in the expo, which is famous at home and abroad, has become an important part of Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. Because of its long duration (60-70 days), high quality, large scale, innovative themes, intriguing games, the expo is known as “the biggest ice and snow carnival in the world”.

    Siberian Tiger Park
    Siberian Tiger Park is the world's largest natural refuge for Siberian Tigers.

    As the natural environment becomes worse, many creatures are endangered and some have died out. The Siberian tiger is considered endangered. It is the largest felid in the world and is known as the King of the Forest. To preserve this valuable species, the Siberian Tiger Park was built in 1996. You can enjoy the exciting scene of tigers attacking prey.

    As a visitor, you are allowed to get closer to these frightening felines than you might be comfortable with. This may be the only time in life you'll get so close to a tiger.

    The Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, established in 1985, are held annually from January 5 and lasts for over one month. Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang Province, is one of the sources of ice and snow culture in the world. The Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is China's original and greatest ice artwork festival, attracting hundreds of thousands of people home and abroad.

    Songhua River
    Songhua River is China's largest tributary. Length 1,927 km (1,197 miles), area of about 550,000 square kilometers (212,000 square miles), across the Heilongjiang, Jilin and Inner Mongolia provinces and districts.

    Central Street
    Originally built in 1898 with the name "China Street", it was renamed as the "Central Street" in 1925 and later developed into the most prosperous commercial street in the city. Starting from the Memorial Tower of Fighting against the Floods of Songhua River to the north and extending to the Jingwei Street to the south, it is 1,450 meters long, 21.34 meters wide, of which 10.8 meters are paved with square stones and were once used by vehicles. There are 71 European style structures as well as 13 structures of Renaissance, Baroque, eclecticism and modern style under protection.

    St. Sophia Cathedral
    Today’s sightseeing goes to the Church of St Sophia, Flood Control Monument and Central Street. The Church of St Sophia, built by the Russians in 1907, has had its exterior restored. It’s in the heart of the city center, extending into an open square. The square provides an enjoyable place to people-watch while listening to the classical Russian music and drifts from the church. Flood Control Monument was built in 1958 in memory of the embankment’s victory in holding back the river, as well as to commemorate the thousands of people who had previously died in the Songhua’s flood.
