My friend and I spontaneously decided to go to Hongkong in the end of October. As it was on real short notice we asked ChinaBase to assist us with the travel arrangements. We were a bit afraid that our budget would be too low for a nice accommodation, but they found a nice place for us to stay. Located on Hongkong Island near to Causeway Bay the hotel was a great starting point to explore the city.
Spending one day in Kowloon strolling along the different markets and visiting the amazing “Symphony of Lights” show gave us a first impression of Hongkong which did not seem too different from other Asian metropolises. However, visiting Stanley Beach, Repulse Bay and the island of Cheung Chau within the next days changed our first impression totally. Hongkong’s Islands offer such a variety of different things to see and so many beautiful places, beaches and nature, that it is just not comparable to any other city and felt more like a relaxing summer holiday than a sightseeing tour. Furthermore, our day trip to Macau offered a totally different experience and gave us the feeling of being back in Europe with traditional architecture and remarkable Portuguese food. Ending the trip with an amazing view from Victorias Peak guaranteed that we will come back to Hongkong for a second time pretty soon.
Thanks again to the ChinaBase Staff for the nice organization, especially the flight arrangements, which made it possible to spend nearly 5 complete days with sightseeing and relaxing.
