Expo 2010 Shanghai, China: “Better City, Better Life”

World Expo 2010 Shanghai is Chinese possibility of making the World feel home in China. There will be 5, 28-square-kilometer area at the core of the city to exhibitions, events and forums on the Expo Theme, “Better City, Better Life”. For its 184 days, participants will display urban civilization; they will exchange their experiences of urban development. Throughout these experience exchanges, the exhibitioners will try to explore new approaches to human habitat, lifestyle and working conditions in the new century.

This 6 months show is basically an environmental world knowledge exhibition. The Exposition will be the first registered World Exposition in a developing country, which gives expression to the expectations the world places on China´s future development. This event will definitely be the largest and most mentioned event in China 2010. The person behind EXPO 2010 has a motto which can give a sort prediction how huge this EXPO 2010 will be; “Keeping in mind the next 60 years, development while preparing for the six months exposition”.

Participant exhibitions
These 200 different countries / companies will be offered a piece of land from these 5, 28 square kilometer where they must build their own exhibition. This exhibition could be inform of a building which has the actual exhibition inside. These buildings are already in progress. Many of the countries are already making their own sort of unique perspective to their building, both outside and inside. As an example; Denmark has already decided to exhibite the original status of Little Mermaid in the Danish pavilion at EXPO. She will be placed in the centre of the building surrounded by water like in Denmark.
During these 6 months there will be a sort of EXPO 2010 district in Shanghai, where all the exhibitions will be placed. This makes it possible to visit different participants within walking distance.

Ticket and entry passes
The ticket price for a single day will be around 160 RMB. This allows you to enter all 200 exhibitions. If you want a multi entry pass which allows you to visit the area several times during a week you must pay around 400 RMB.

After EXPO 2010
After the EXPO 2010 there will be selected 6 buildings, which gets the opportunity of having there building standing in memory of EXPO 2010. This is of course the opportunity every participant aims for, because it will show both China and the rest of The World what an effort they have putted into their project.
