Zhenjiang
Zhenjiang, a fresh and beautiful city on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, inlaying at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It connects Nanjing to the west and Shanghai to the east. Across the Yangtze River, on the north bank, lies the city of Yangzhou. Zhenjiang is a famous historical & cultural city, top tourist city, national hygienic city as well as a model city of environmental protection. With a large number of cultural relics and historical spots, there're three state-class units preserved as cultural relics and nineteen provincial ones. It enjoys a very rich cultural deposit and many great names throughout the history, such as Shenkuo, Xin Qiji, Wang Anshi, Liu Xie and Wang Changling, etc. left here monumental works and masterpieces.
Gold Hill
is the emblem of Zhenjiang. Whether you have been to the city or not most Chinese people know about Gold Hill for "The Romance of Miss White Snake" and the story of "White Snake Flooded the Gold Hill were taken place here.With the history more than 1600 years Gold Hill Buddhism Temple is the national priority temple open to the tourist home and abroad. Looking from distance you will see rows of temple halls and houses in the temple's enormous compound connected together, the buildings and pavilions are built in layer on the slope of the hill.
The architectures conform harmoniously with the hill forming the unique scenery and it is said "The Temple Wraps the Gold Hill". You can feel the magnificence of the hill and the spectacular of the pagoda. With this architectural style in Gold Hill enjoyed by the views of hills and rivers impressed by Buddhism sanctity the traveling poets got the afflatus for their masterpieces the common people have hopes from the depth of their hearts.
