City Info: Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province

  It is 70 km. (41 miles) ride away from Hangzhou. The West Lake of Hangzhou may be Zhenjiang's most beloved attraction, but the Grand Canal is certainly its most historic. When the Grand Canal reached Hangzhou during the Sui Dynasty, surrounding villages such as Shaoxing took advantage of the coming prosperity. Shaoxing is surrounded by many lakes, and has old and attractive buildings and temples. Beside fishing, Shaoxing people also live by the town's traditional industry of making rice wine. This charming small city, was and still is Hangzhou's best-known "suburb." Another famous site in Shaoxing is the old home of Lu Xun, the 20th-century writer, and a museum dedicated to him.

Museum's
- Lunxun Museum
Located inside Lu Xun Residence, a famous Chinese Writer. The museum shows the photos and memorabilia of the writer's life.

-Zhou Enlai's Ancestral Home
The Ancestral Home of Zhou En lai is located at the Laodong Road in Shaoxing city. It was first build during the years of the reign of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. In March of 1939 Zhou En-lai launched a revolutionary movement in Shaoxing. A lot of precious historical relics have been left.
