Puji Temple Spot is to the east of 100-pace golden beach and adhere to Xishan at its west. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Mt. Putuo. Puji Temple is the main temple worshiping Buddha Guanyin on the island. An 8.8 -meter-high Statue of Bilu Guanyin Buddha stands in the Dayuantong Hall of Puji Temple. At the spot there are many scenic spots of different view, such as Royal Stele Pavilion, Dingxiang Pavilion, Buddha's Wall, Stone of Mr. Mei's Pod, Saints Well, Chaoyin Cave, Treasure Pagoda. And Treasure Pagoda, which is made of stones from Taihu Lake, is one of the three Treasure of Mt. Putuo. Xianghua Street is full of various handicrafts and dried aquatic products.

Fayu Temple is the second largest temple on the island. Guanyin Buddha is worshiped in its main hall, Nine Dragon Hall. The temple was built alongside the mountain, so its structure and workmanship are wonderful and the outlook is great. Just in front of the temple lies Thousand-pace Golden Beach. In this scenic area, from south to north, stand Historical Relics Museum, Dasheng Nunnery, Yangzhi, Nunnery, Xianghui Nunnery, Fanyin Cave, and Sea-viewing Pavilion. Among them, Nine Dragon Hall and Yangzhi Guanyin Stele are the other two of the Temple Treasure of Mt. Putuo.

All the scenic spots of this area are located at the sides of Mt. Meiceng. They include Meifu Nunnery, Yuantong Nunnery, Guanyi Cave Nunnery, Lingshi Nunnery and Thousand-Year Ancient Camphor Tree. The spot is full of bamboos, trees and strange stones. Most of these strange stones have names, such Stone of Chinese Character Heart, Stone Pantuo, Stone of Lecturing Buddha, Stone of Two Tortoise, Stone of Carrot, etc. You can enjoy a nice overview of Mt. Putuo at the top of Mt. Xishan.

Foding Mountain is also called Top of Buddha. It is the highest Mount on the island. The third largest temple, Huiji Temple, is built here. Its halls are cleverly built in one line according to the geographical position. Only in Huiji Temple is Buddha Sakyamuni worshiped. In its Guanyin Hall there are 123 stone inscriptions of Guanyin's portraits drawn by painters of Tang, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the spot there also some strange stones like Sea Paradise Stone, Cloud-met Stone, Knife-Cutting Stone, Sky-Light Stand.

The First Temple on the island, Not-Willing-to-Go Guanyin Nunnery, is located here. Adding up to the beauty are Purple Bamboo Nunnery, West Paradise Nunnery, Statue of South Sea Guanyin, Chaoyin Cave, "forbidding to Die" Stele. Purple Bamboo Scenic Spot is at the seashore. So you may have a great view of the sea, the sky, the waves and the stones here.
