Spring, the best one among the famous 72 springs in Ji'nan, is hailed as
"the first spring under the heaven", the spring water spurts out
in three prongs, with water droplets falling around, just like three piles
of snow, which is very spectacular. The spring water is very sweet, optimum
for making tea, which is limpid in color, rich in aroma, good in taste.
Sitting under the "Watching Crane Pavilion" in the east side of
the spring with a cup of tea in hand, one's mind will fly faraway and hates
to leave. |

| Lake Daming is a natural lake where many springs converge. Springs empty themselves into the lake from the south and, if water overflows, the lake depletes its surplus water through the north water gate. This gate was built in the North Song Dynasty, on the northern bank. As the lake bottom is composed of volcanic rock, the lake holds water so efficiently that the lake does not dry up during the dry season and it does not overflow after rainy. |

Qianfo Mountain, one of the major places of interest in Ji'nan, is overgrown with grass and plants of various kinds including ancient pine and cypress trees, at a distance appears like a giant wearing a huge green dotted gown of pavilions, towers and terraces. The most famous is Xingguo Temple built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). On the south side of the temple is Qianfo Cliff, carved with more than 60 Buddhist statues. The largest ones are over 3 meters high and the smallest ones are only 20 centimeters. The mountain is now a park rich in both natural beauty and historical relics of China's ancient civilization. |
