| Huangshan
City is located in south-eastern China, at the southern part of Anhui province.
It was known historically as Xin'an Prefecture and Huizou Prefecture, and
gained its present name in 1987 for the breathtaking beauty of Mt. Huangshan
(Yellow Mountain).
Huangshan City is destined to be one of the hottest tourist destinations
in the 21st Century. Partly thanks to magic creation of nature, and partly
because of its more than 2000-year-old history & flourishing continuous
Huizhou culture, the city boasts plentiful tourist resources: world-famous
Mt.Huangshan, well-preserved ancient villages, crystal Lake Taiping and
Qiyun Taoist Mountain and so on. Old residences, archways, clan temples,
ancient bridges and pagodas are abundant.

Huizhou cuisine, local famous dishes are Steamed Pork Roll with Ground Glutinous Rice, Pickled Cabbage Cooked with Bean Curd, Spiral Shell Braised with Banboo Shoots, Spiral Shell Braised with Duck, Cold Bean Sprouts Dressed with Sauce. The area is famous for Keemun Black tea and Maofeng Green tea.
When to Go
Aside from a month-long rainy period beginning mid-June, Huangshan enjoys all good tourist seasons. Winter is the best time to avoid the crowds.
