The Grasslands ............................................................................................................................................................................ |
| The real reason for coming to Hohhot is to visit the high-altitude grasslands and experience the nomadic lifestyle. Excursions generally range from one to three days, complete with transportation, guide, meals, and hotel or yurt accommodations. Visitors can go horseback or camelback riding, attend a local rodeo, and take tea with the Mongol tribesmen. Inner Mongolia is not a dressy destination. Visitors are advised to bring layered clothing for the chilly nights. Three local grassland villages are open to foreign guests. | ![]() |
